With most of us living in urban areas under the glare of streetlights, remote railway viaducts are among the most stunning features that can nowadays be photographed in near total darkness. Ribblehead Viaduct, on the world-famous Settle-Carlisle Line, is certainly no exception - its setting within the Yorkshire Dales National Park represents one of the least light-polluted areas of the country.
