Kazakhization

In many ways the Kazakhization of the elite and their policies does not always reflect the attitudes of self-categorization processes going on among the elite. The lack of commitment to a policy of Kazakhization, and its ultimately inconsistent implementation, is borne out by this volume's interviews with the elite, who were either uncomfortable at the speed of Kazakhization or perceived no benefits from, for example, the language changes.
