ストレプトマイシンは、アミノグリコシド系抗生物質の一種で、土壌放線菌（Streptomyces griseus）によって産生される。多くの細菌に対して有効で、特にグラム陰性菌の感染症治療に筋肉内注射で使用される。初めて結核治療に成功した薬だが、副作用のため現在は他の薬剤と併用されることが多い。
