dueling tree

A post with a number of targets extending from its left and right sides, which (in some versions) swing from one side to the other in general or when hit, for a pair of archers or shooters to aim at.

決闘用に使用される柱で、左右に複数のターゲットが取り付けられており、固定されているものや、当たると左右に振れる仕様のものがある。主に二人の射手や弓使いが狙うために設置された装置。

During the competition, each pair of shooters faced a dueling tree and had to knock down as many swinging targets as possible before time ran out.

競技中、各射手のペアは左右に複数の標的が取り付けられ、当たると揺れる対戦用の標的ポールに向かい、制限時間内にできるだけ多くの揺れる標的を倒さなければならなかった。
