ファンの間で用いられるスラングで、前号の内容や以前の読者コメントに対して意見を述べる目的で、定期刊行物に送られる手紙や通信を指す。

その号の社説を読んだ後、彼女はノートを取り出して読者の意見投稿を書き、事実誤認を指摘しつつ表紙絵を称賛して送った。

意味（1）

The first contributor of an accepted new item (not a COA) is entitled to a free issue, as are all other Good People who send in locs, cartoons, etc.
