We switched to approach-forcing after a costly misunderstanding, because in that system the responder does not support a partner's bid suit without four-card support or three cards including a queen or higher, never passes an opening one-bid while holding at least one-and-a-half honor tricks, always responds to show hand strength, and treats a two-level opener or any jump bid as forcing to game, with no-trump no longer used as a negative response when a bid is forced.
