(chiefly linguistics) A question that is introduced by a wh-word (what, where, why, etc.) and cannot be answered by yes or no.

A question that tries to make someone answer in a certain way, usually incorrectly (i.e. that seems to have an obvious answer that is however incorrect), or that doesn't have a correct answer or that hides the real question or some difficulty. Usually a loaded question.

(politics) A time during a sitting of parliament wherein Members of Parliament ask questions of government ministers (including the Prime Minister) which they are obliged to answer.

A question that suggests the answer or that contains the information for which the examiner is looking.

totally obediently / undeniably

(historical) The diplomatic and political issues raised by the decline and break-up of the Ottoman Empire.

(informal) An acknowledgement that a question is difficult to answer.

(chiefly attributive) begging the question; that which begs the question; logically circular.

(politics) In parliamentary procedure, a call to end debate on a pending proposal and bring it to an immediate vote.

(historical) The issues surrounding the status (and protection by western powers) of Armenians in Ottoman and formerly Ottoman areas.
