地図作成で用いられる用語。基準となる子午線からの実際の東方向の距離（実際のイースティング）に、計算を容易にするためにあらかじめ定数を加算した値。たとえばUTM座標系では、各ゾーンの中心からの東方向の距離に500,000が加えられており、これにより値が常に正となるように調整される。
