Having seized some of the large clinkerbuilt fishing-boats, such as are used still in the Scottish firths and seas, he embarked his whole force at Holm-sound, a beautiful bay in Pomona, crossed the stormy Pentland Firth, and in the beginning of April landed his followers, without the loss of one, on the coast of Caithness, at the flat part of the shore near Duncan’s bay-head and John-o’-Groat’s House.
