quadrature amplitude modulation
(radio) A modulation scheme that conveys data by applying amplitude modulation to two carrier waves at once. These two waves, usually sinusoids, are out of phase with each other by 90° and are thus called quadrature carriers. Commonly abbreviated QAM.
二つの搬送波に対して同時に振幅変調を施すことでデータを伝送する変調方式。これら二つの搬送波は通常、正弦波を用い、互いに90度の位相差を持つ直交状態にあるため「直交振幅変調」と呼ばれ、一般にQAMと略される。
