(mathematics, obsolete) An old kind of calculus in which lines were considered as made up of an infinite number of points; surfaces, as made up of an infinite number of lines; and volumes, as made up of an infinite number of surfaces.

The method of indivisibles, also known as the method of exhaustion, is a mathematical technique used to calculate the area or volume of irregular shapes by dividing them into an infinite number of infinitesimally small indivisible parts.
