The aim of our study, therefore, was to investigate the effects of MSCs on mucosal T-cell lines (TCLs) specific for the muramyl dipeptide (MDP), a motif common to peptidoglican of the bacterial cell wall against which the abnormal immune response is mounted, which represents the main effector arm of tissue damage in this pathological condition.
