Taken together, the beneficial effects of n-3 PUFA on metabolic derangements are mediated in part by alleviation of AT inflammation, especially resulting from decreased secretion of proinflammatory adipokines, increased secretion of adiponectin, and induced synthesis of proresolving lipid mediators.
