数学における単調関数とは、独立変数が増加するにつれて、関数の値が常に一方向（増加または減少）のみで変化し、途中で反転しない関数のことを指す。 / すなわち、入力が大きくなると関数の出力が常に上昇するか、常に下降する関数を意味する。
