(government, acronym) the Montreal Urban Community — the supramunicipal level of government for the island of Montreal and several surrounding islands. It was formed in 1970, and in 2002 it was replaced by the MMC, it area was subsumed into the megacity of Montreal. It was reformed in 2006 as the Montreal Agglomeration Council (Conseil d'agglomération de Montréal).
