Mr. Mahadevan also sang winningly (but often wordlessly) throughout the concert’s second half, alongside Mr. Hussain, the mandolinist U. Shrinivas and the percussionist V. Selvaganesh, whose specialty is the kanjira, a small hand drum with an expressive range of pitch.
