OK, call me a hypersensitive liberal, if you want. It wouldn’t be the first time. I can be a pain in the neck about racial, ethnic and religious bias sometimes, but I think it’s better to be hypersensitive than insensitive.
Even at the time of writing, the refurbishment of the HST sets is still progressing slowly, with Class 170s continuing to operate many Inverness services and some of the HSTs which are available for the Aberdeen route running in an unrefurbished state - with slam doors and no toilet retention tanks.
