Qianjiang

The construction of democratic politics in some regions went backward. For example, Qianjiang Municipality in Hubei Province was given an award as the National Model City of the Villagers’ Autonomy by the Ministry of Civil Affairs, but “there was an incident in which most of the members of the villagers’ committees were unlawfully replaced by the township governments.”
