Philippine Sea

After refueling and taking on supplies in New Guinea, we steamed north and east to support the landings on Kwajalein and Eniwetok and the thrusts against the island of Truk. We participated in the famous "Turkey Shoot" in the Marianas, during which we decimated the enemy's forces. Then we joined the task force gearing up for the battle of the Philippine Sea.
