天皇(てんのう)は最(もっと)も貴重(きちょう)な織物(おりもの)であった繧繝(うんげん)錦(にしき)を使(つか)った繧繝縁(うんげんべり)が用(もち)いられました。繧繝(うんげん)とは同色系統(どうしょくけいとう)の段層的(だんそうてき)な濃淡(のうたん)と他(ほか)の対照的(たいしょうてき)な色調(しきちょう)の濃淡(のうたん)を組(く)み合(あ)わせて装飾効果(そうしょくこうか)を高(たか)めた当時(とうじ)の最高級織物(さいこうきゅうおりもの)です。
