Intravenous leiomyosarcomatosis consists of proliferating malignant smooth muscle cells originating from the walls of the uterine or pelvic veins.

Both subspecies may superficially resemble C. furcata var. furcata, but can be distinguished by the imperforate axils and esquamulose podetia.
