In the anatomy lab, students identified the greater petrosal nerve, a mixed nerve that arises in the geniculate ganglion, carries mainly sensory and some parasympathetic fibers, joins the deep petrosal nerve at the entrance of the pterygoid canal to form the Vidian nerve, sends sensory fibers to the soft palate and partly to the Eustachian tube, and provides parasympathetic fibers that form the motor root of the pterygopalatine ganglion.

解剖実習で学生たちは、膝状神経節に起こり主に感覚線維と一部の副交感神経線維を含み、翼口蓋管の入口で深岩神経と合してヴィディアン神経を形成し、軟口蓋や一部は耳管へ感覚線維を送り、副交感神経線維が翼口蓋神経節の運動根を形成する混合神経である大岩神経を同定しました。
