（法律）合意または契約が存在しない場合に、法律に基づいて当事者に課せられる義務。つまり、契約が締結されていなくても、正義や不当な利益の回避を目的として、あたかも契約に基づくかのように法的効果が認められる状態。

The court imposed a quasi-contract to prevent unjust enrichment when no formal agreement existed between the parties.
