Japanese Meaning
「です」「でございます」などの丁寧な断定の助動詞が変化した、古風で誇張的な言い回し。主に一部の上品ぶった女性やキャラクターが文末で用いる。「〜でございます」→「〜でござます」→「〜ざます」と変化したものとされる。 / 断定・存在などを表す補助的な言い方。「〜である」「〜だ」に相当する意味合いを持つが、現代ではもっぱら戯画的・キャラクター付けの表現。
