沙羅双樹（さらそうじゅ）は、フタバガキ科の常緑高木「サラノキ」（学名: Shorea robusta）を指す。インド原産で、仏教において釈迦が入滅した際、その周囲に茂っていたとされる聖木として知られる。 / 日本の文学や仏教文化においては、『平家物語』冒頭の「祇園精舎の鐘の声、諸行無常の響きあり。沙羅双樹の花の色、盛者必衰の理をあらはす」で有名で、栄華のはかなさを象徴する木・その花をも意味する。 / 本来のサラノキ（Shorea robusta）はインドなどの熱帯地域に自生するが、日本では気候条件の違いからほとんど育たないため、しばしばナツツバキ（夏椿）やシャラノキ（別種の木）が「沙羅双樹」として寺院に植えられていることがある。
