Japanese Meaning
めど（目処／目途）: 物事を進める上での見通しや、おおよその到達点・見込み。「完成のめどが立つ」などのように使われる。 / めど（針孔）: 針の先端とは反対側にある糸を通すための小さな穴。「針のめどに糸を通す」のように用いる。 / めど（馬道）: 昔の城や屋敷などに見られた、屋根の付いた細長い通路。馬の通行などに用いられた。現在はほとんど使われない古い語。 / めど（蓍）: キク科の多年草『シバムギ』ではなく、マメ科の『メドハギ（蓍萩）』を指すことが多い。易占いなどで用いる占筮（せんぜい）用の茎・枝を指すこともある。
