formed

the
junction
of
the
petrous
portion
of
the
temporal
bone
and
the
basilar
portion
of
the
occipital
bone
and
that
extends
from
the
posterior
inferior
end
of
the
cavernous
sinus
through
the
jugular
foramen
to
join
the
internal
jugular
vein
of
the
same
side.

下側岩上洞：側頭骨の岩部と後頭骨の基底部分の接合部が形成する溝内に、左右それぞれに存在する2つの岩上洞のうち、下側に位置する大きな洞静脈で、洞（cavernous sinus）の後下端から頸静脈洞と連結するために、頸静脈孔を通って内部頸静脈へ合流する解剖学的構造。
