外側足首靱帯の機械的不安定性を治療するための外科的手法。具体的には、腓骨短筋（peroneus brevis）をその筋腱複合体から分離し、その近位端を腓骨長筋（peroneus longus）に縫合する。さらに、腓骨の後上側から外果先端に至る開口部を作成し、この開口部を通して腱を前方から後方へ通し、自己縫合する方法である。
