(mathematics, numerical analysis) A method for solving ordinary differential equations, using six function evaluations to calculate fourth- and fifth-order accurate solutions, the difference between which is then taken to be the error of the (fourth-order) solution.
Dormand-Prince method
When solving ordinary differential equations numerically for the orbital model, we used the Dormand-Prince method to obtain fourth- and fifth-order estimates with just six function evaluations and to use their difference as an error estimate.
