レイノルズ数とは、流体力学における無次元数で、粘性流体の流れの特性(層流か乱流かなど)を決定するパラメータです。特に管内流においては、値が約2,000未満で層流、約3,000以上で乱流、これらの間は不安定な挙動を示すとされています。
