農地などの境界に設けられる小さな門で、スティール（階段を跨ぐための小さな橋）ではなく、この門がU字型またはV字型の囲い内で両側の支柱に触れる（＝接する）構造となっており、1人ずつ通行できるように設計されている。一方で家畜が自ら操作するには複雑な作りとなっている。
