Japanese Meaning
地質学における「葉層」は、堆積岩中に見られる非常に薄い層で、肉眼または顕微鏡で区別できる細かな層理の単位を指す。一般に、砂岩・泥岩・頁岩などの堆積物が静かな水中環境などでわずかな変化を繰り返しながら堆積した結果として形成される。しばしば「ラミナ」とも呼ばれ、通常の地層（層理面で区切られる層）よりもはるかに薄い。
