This

archipelago
was
the

entry

most
of
the

Dutch,

Japanese
invasions.
Because
of

continued
threat,
Taiwan
maintains
numerous
military
installations
on
these
islands
as
well
as
on
others
located
in
the
strait
between
Pʻeng-hu
and
the
mainland.
