Dr. James Soong, government spokesman of the Republic of China, said September 30 the purpose of the Chinese Communists’ united front propaganda is to subjugate the free Chinese in Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu under Communist rule.[…]We have always maintained that unification is the common wish of all the Chinese people. Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu are not separated from the mainland by the Taiwan Straits but by two inimical systems: one of benevolence and the other of tyranny. China must be unified under one system that is free, democratic and in the interest of the people. To unify China under the Three Principles of the People is the fundamental policy of the Republic of China.
