At the end of August, 1963, the Cambodian Government broke off diplomatic relations with South Viet-Nam, "in view of the countless crimes the latter government has been ceaselessly perpetuating for years against the Khmer people of Cambodia, the Khmer community of Kampuchea Krom, and Buddhism."
