Main suspension is by four triple nests of coil springs, which are mounted in spring cups on the forged steel underslung equalising beams. The equalising beam ends fit into stirrups cast integral with the Skefko self-aligning roller-bearing axleboxes. Woodhead-Monroe shock absorbers are fitted between the equalising beams and the bogie frame to damp the recoil of the primary suspension.
