The city of Suiping is situated on the Peking-Hankow Railway and is the farthest north of our mission stations. It is the center of a district with a population of approximately 300,000 people who rank comparatively high in literacy. Suiping was opened as a main station in 1912 when Rev. H. M. Nesse arrived to take charge of the mission work.

The genera by which two families approximate are called osculant genera.
