Yang-chia-kou village, known throughout northern Shensi as the home of the “Kuang-yü t'ang”? Ma, was located in the sixth hsiang of Ho-ch’a ch’ü, Mi-chih county. The village was approximately forty li from the county seat, an equal distance from Chi-chen town, an additional forty li from Ssu-shih-li p’u, and fifteen li from T’ao-hua mao chen.

Three words there are here together, [translated as] to follow after, to attain, to be foremost, which are all Agonistical, referring to the customes of the Graecian exercises in their Olympian, Nemaean, Isthmian, Pythian games, which are often alluded to in these Epistles.

[T]he egg spoon must also be untarnishable—stainless steel, or horn. I've never seen a gold egg spoon, but I'm sure it would do. Whatever the material, the spoon has to have a small bowl with a fine edge on it: a thick edge can't coax all the egg white off the inside of the shell. The handle is short, for good balance and easy handling. An egg spoon is a tiny implement that, like the Viennese breakfast, cannot be improved.

Why does not God make his priest speak out, intelligibly and clearly ? Why did not the prophet tell the Jews, that their next Messiah should be a spiritual not a temporal Messiah, like all their former Messiahs ? But every prophecy is an ænigma to be expounded by the priest. Here, again, we have the system of secrecy which prevails through every part of the ancient world. Every thing was allegory and ænigma, contrived for the purpose of supporting the power of the favoured initiated.
