St. Vincent and the Grenadines

When we in St. Vincent and the Grenadines espouse the cause of Caribbean Unity and Identity, I don’t want anyone to think I want an easy ride on their resources. There are none among you in the OECS who have a greater resource in tourism than we have in the Grenadines, or in agriculture than we have in St. Vincent. The fact that we are behind some of you in either is a reflection not of our resource base, but of the historical quality of our poor management in the past, and the restructuring of our economy in the last three years proclaims our capability. When we in St. Vincent and the Grenadines talk unity we are not planning to come on board or to come on stage naked.
