functions

which
one
knows
two
values
with
opposite
signs,
and
consists
of
repeatedly
bisecting
the
interval
defined
by
these
values
and
then
selecting
the
subinterval
in
which
the

changes
sign,
and
therefore
must
contain
a
root.
