The B.T.C. already owns the whole of the £1,285,000 ordinary capital of the Pullman Car Co. and, in the words of the official statement, the proposal to purchase the publicly held preference stock is intended "to facilitate integration of the Pullman Car operations with those of the Railways Board. This preference stock ... might hinder such integration."
