Chiang-su

Like the two preceding provinces, Chiang-su forms part of the Great Plain. It has few hills and is more abundantly watered than any other province.... Chiang-su was the main centre of the great T'ai P'ing rebellion, Nanking being the rebel capital from 1853 to 1864.
