仏教における八戒。具体的には、(i) 生命を奪う行為の禁止、(ii) 他人の物を無断で取らない、(iii) 不道徳な性行為の禁止、(iv) 虚偽の言葉を用いない、(v) 心を乱す酩酊状態を招く物質の摂取を避ける、(vi) 不適切な時間の食事摂取の回避、(vii) 踊り、音楽、興行、花、化粧、装飾品の着用など娯楽への没頭を控える、(viii) 高い場所での就寝を避けるという規律
