It’s a studied disruption, which is fitting, since the Belgian-born Martin Margiela, who got his start designing for Jean Paul Gaultier in the ’80s, was the progenitor of the seam-exposed inside-out deconstructivist aesthetic of the late ’80s and early ’90s.
