インターネットスラングとして、『Rule 34』は『何にでも、ありとあらゆるものがポルノの対象となる』という命題を指す。特に、ファンアートなどインターネット上で作成されるポルノ描写を含む意味で使われる。

多くのインターネットユーザーは、『存在するものは何でもポルノ化される』というルールを冗談めかして持ち出し、お気に入りのキャラクターの思いがけない性的なファンアートを見かける理由を説明する。
