fruit dove

A dove of the genus Ptilinopus, in the pigeon and dove family Columbidae. These colorful, frugivorous (fruit-eating) doves are found in the forests and woodlands throughout Southeast Asia and Oceania. It is a large genus with about 50 species, some threatened or already extinct.
