「Pyroeis」は、放浪する星、すなわち惑星火星を象徴する神の名前として解釈される。

In the temple, priests recited hymns to Pyroeis, whose association with the red wanderer inspired both fear and reverence.

神殿で、司祭たちは徘徊する星の神アレース（火星）に賛歌を唱え、その赤い徘徊星との結びつきは畏怖と崇敬の念を同時に呼び起こした。
