直接製鉄法により鍛鉄を生成するための鍛冶炉。細かく砕いた鉱石を使用し、連続して加工を行う点が特徴で、旧式のカタロニア式鍛冶炉とは明確に異なる。

博物館では、アメリカ式の鍛造炉のじわじわとした熱と金属を打つ音が、細かく砕いた鉱石を用いて連続的に鍛鉄を直接生産する仕組みを示していた。
