動物細胞の細胞質分裂開始時に、細胞膜が赤道面で内側に陥入する現象。 / 細胞分裂において、細胞膜が絞られて凹部となり、細胞を二分する過程で見られる部位。

During cytokinesis, the cleavage furrow deepened as the actin–myosin contractile ring tightened, eventually separating the two daughter cells.
